No matter who you are, Osler can be your CPD Home

Osler has been accredited to be a CPD Home for all doctors in Australia from 1st January 2024.

Osler can provide CPD Home services to you no matter who you are. Here’s how.

All Australian-registered doctors who are required to have a CPD Home must complete the basic requirements :

  • Nominate a CPD Home

  • Complete a yearly Personal Career Development Plan

  • Complete 50 hours of CPD activities, comprised of Learning Activities, Monitoring Performance and Measuring Outcomes (covered here in more detail)

  • Ensure some of their learning relates to Ethical Practice, Professionalism, Addressing Inequity and Cultural Sensivitiy

If you are a specialist, you also need to meet the Specialist High Level Requirements. These are a set of additional tasks specified by your college - for example, you may need to do an Advanced Life Support Course every 3 years. Not all colleges have defined SHLRs however.

When you choose Osler as your CPD Home, the role and specialty you enter will define the requirements of your program.

If you wish to be registered as a consultant / specialist in Australia, you will need to complete any SLHRs relevant to your specialty. If you are a career medical officer or junior doctor, or no specific specialty reflects your practice, you will only need to do the basic CPD requirements listed above.

If you select a specific specialty, and that college has defined High Level Requirements for you to complete, these tasks will appear on your CPD Portfolio page. You will be required to complete these tasks in order to be compliant with your CPD for the year.
